Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, while patrolling the Osiecznica municipality, noticed a car parked by the road and two men standing beside it (aged 27 and 30). They drove closer to check whether the men needed help. It turned out that the latter did not need assistance, but their car contained numerous items whose origin they were unable to explain.
A moment later, the vehicle’s owner arrived at the scene; she had been staying at a nearby hotel.
It emerged that some of the items came from thefts and burglaries committed recently in nearby localities. (These involved a break-in to a car and an outbuilding, as well as a theft from a house under construction.) What is more, officers found drugs in the car and in the 25-year-old woman’s room.
The group was charged with a total of 13 offenses. The 25-year-old woman faces the most charges; she will also answer for fraudulently obtaining hotel services on two occasions.
All three face up to 10 years in prison.
