A resident of the city called the Lubin police duty officer. He reported that two young men had smashed the windows in a bus shelter. The duty officer immediately sent prevention officers to the scene.
The officers did not find the vandals at the scene. As it turned out, the two 22-year-olds—acting as if nothing had happened—got on a bus and left.
The police stopped the bus and detained the suspects. One of them explained that he could not have destroyed the bus shelter because he has a bad leg.
Both vandals were taken to police custody. They face up to five years in prison. They will also have to cover the cost of repairing the bus shelter. (The damage was estimated at approximately PLN 1,000.)
