At the prosecutor’s request, the District Court in Jelenia Góra remanded 48-year-old Valentyn P., a Ukrainian citizen, in custody for three months. The Ukrainian national is suspected of murder.
The tragedy occurred on December 3 in Jelenia Góra. A drinking binge took place at the boarding house where, among others, Valentin P. and his 28-year-old acquaintance rented rooms. An argument broke out between the men, during which P. stabbed the victim several times in the abdomen and chest. The victim died as a result of his injuries.
The perpetrator was arrested shortly after the incident. (He was drunk.) He was taken to a police holding cell.
On December 5, the Ukrainian national was charged with murder with particular cruelty. The man pleaded guilty. He also explained that he had previously been convicted of murder in Ukraine.
The man could now face life imprisonment. The investigation is being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.
