Police officers hold many meetings with children and young people in schools and kindergartens. This time, however, it was the children from Non-Public Kindergarten No. 2 in Zgorzelec and from a kindergarten in Gӧrlitz who visited the uniformed officers.

During the visit, the little ones learned the secrets of police work and became familiar with duties performed in various positions. The unusual visit was also an opportunity to see the station building from the inside. The preschoolers toured the facility, taking a keen interest in the work of officers from various departments.

The rooms that not everyone has the opportunity to see up close caused a great deal of excitement. The little ones toured the commander's office and the room for detained persons with curiosity. In the forensic technicians' room, a police officer gave a presentation on securing traces. (The children also had the opportunity to take impressions of their fingerprints as a souvenir.) What is more, the little ones could take on the role of a police officer and get into a patrol car.

“At the end of the meeting, the children gathered in the briefing room, where we held a safety lesson especially for them,” said the Zgorzelec officers. “The little ones' extensive knowledge and their activity were surprising. They answered flawlessly questions concerning emergency numbers, road safety and appropriate behaviour when interacting with strangers.”
