On Wednesday (November 29), late in the evening, officers from the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski received information about the whereabouts of a man wanted by the police. Additional police forces were immediately organized, and the indicated building was surrounded, among others, by plainclothes officers conducting intelligence operations in Gryfów Śląski. After a while, the officers appeared at the door with an arrest warrant. The wanted man, however, had no intention of opening the door to the officers, so a decision was made to force entry into the premises. It then turned out that the two men staying there had decided to climb out through a window onto the steep roof of the five-story building, hoping that the police would not notice them. Their plan failed, as they were arrested by the officers on the roof.

The 33-year-old resident of Gryfów Śląski was wanted in order to serve a prison sentence and be incarcerated for theft. In the apartment, the officers also found drugs—16 individual doses of marijuana and 2 individual doses of methamphetamine—as well as items including fishing and diving equipment and electronics, originating from burglaries in Gryfów and the surrounding area. At the scene, the district officers recognized items originating from a burglary at an apartment that took place on November 16 this year in Gryfów. The remaining items were secured by criminal investigators for detailed cataloguing and to determine which burglary they came from.

Both men, aged 33 and 23, were arrested and taken to police custody, where investigative officers will carry out procedural activities with them.
