On November 18, at around 7:40 p.m., the duty officer at Police Station II in Jelenia Góra was notified that a man was lying in the Wrzosówka River, near Domeyki and Cieplicka streets, unable to get out onto the bank by himself and loudly calling for help.
A patrol went to the scene. It turned out that the 51-year-old man was intoxicated, had taken the wrong route and fallen into the river. According to a witness, the unfortunate man had already been in the water for about 40 minutes.
The police officers pulled the 51-year-old man out of the water and placed him under medical care.
