During the meeting with the seniors, Superintendent Małgorzata Gorzelak from the Social Communications Team and Senior Sergeant Beata Sosulska-Baran from the Prevention Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra took part. The activities were carried out mainly under the “Safe Senior” prevention programmes.
Many topics concerning the safety of older people were discussed during the meeting. These included pickpocketing, burglaries, scams involving a grandchild, daughter, social worker or police officer, as well as crimes related to the internet and mobile phones.
The policewomen handed out reflective items to the seniors and reminded them to wear them. In addition, the officers explained the principles of the National Safety Threats Map to the DDP residents and informed them about the Moja Komenda application, which can be used to contact a local police officer.
