The duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters received a report of a theft at one of Legnica’s discount stores. The perpetrator took 7 packages of laundry detergent and two chocolate bars from the shelf, then hid them in a bag and behind his trouser belt. He then went to the store entrance to bypass the checkout line.
At that point, a security guard approached him and asked him to return the stolen goods. The 19-year-old began wrestling with the security employee and punched him in the face. A random customer helped the attacked man.
The police detained the aggressive 19-year-old. The suspect, who already has shoplifting offenses on his record, was taken into police custody. He now faces up to 10 years behind bars.
