Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters received a report of a break-in at a basement and the theft of items worth approximately 500 zlotys. Based on the information gathered, police quickly identified a person who might have been connected with the case.
The officers went to an apartment where the suspected man often stayed. There, police found both the 35-year-old and property originating from the crime.
The suspect confessed. He explained that he had taken advantage of the fact that the door to the stairwell was open, which made it much easier for him to enter the building’s basement area.
The 35-year-old, who already has a number of property crimes on his record, has been charged. He now faces up to 10 years behind bars. (The recovered car accessories will be handed over to their owner.)
