The incident took place on Thursday, September 21, in the morning. A man came to Bolesławieckie Centrum Zdrowia who wanted to register his granddaughter, allegedly after she had fallen off a horse, for a hearing test. After a while, the elderly man began chatting with the Center's employees. He claimed to be the director of a company replacing computer equipment in city offices, including the one in Bolesławiec. He told the women from BCZ that he could arrange equipment worth 8,000 zlotys for them for… 450 zlotys.

“He was very convincing and charming,” one of the facility's employees told istotne.pl. However, the women realized that something was wrong. Among other things, they noticed the director's clothing and build. “He was a man with a belly, wearing a darned sweater,” the woman adds. “We were not fooled, even though he was extremely smooth-talking.”

What is more, it appears that he is a wanted person. The scammer had allegedly managed to defraud several people in Poznań in a similar manner. (BCZ employees found the above link online. As they say, the same person visited them today.)

The police are investigating the case.
