The American ship “Endurance,” carrying equipment, arrived at the port of Gdańsk on Tuesday, September 12. Its cargo included, among other things, 87 M1 Abrams tanks, 103 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and 18 Paladin howitzers. As we read on the website of “Polska Zbrojna”:

This equipment belongs to the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Infantry Division. The unit is based daily at Fort Riley in the state of Kansas and is known as the Big Red One. Its soldiers took part in the First and Second World Wars, during which they helped, among other things, capture Omaha Beach, as well as in the conflict in Vietnam and both battles in the Persian Gulf region, where they played a key role in the Battle of Fallujah. They are now opening another chapter in their exceptionally rich history. Soon, they will replace their colleagues from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division, who have been stationed in western Poland for nine months.

Once the equipment is unloaded, its transport deeper into the country will begin, including to Żagań, Świętoszów and Bolesławiec. We will return to this topic.
