Since the first days of September, police officers have been monitoring areas around schools, including pedestrian crossings. They have launched increased speed checks. Officers are also inspecting the technical condition, signage and equipment of school buses and other vehicles, as well as conducting classes with children, helping prepare students—especially first-grade primary school pupils—for conscious and safe use of the roads.
Lubin police officers appeal to all adults to set proper examples for the youngest children—examples worthy of following.
“To increase children’s safety, we are providing them with items visible after dark, purchased with financial support from the KGHM Polska Miedź Foundation,” say the Lubin officers.
They add: “We also appeal to all drivers to exercise particular caution, especially when driving near schools and kindergartens.”
