Police officers from the Bolesławiec traffic unit stopped a car for inspection after its driver was speeding at 91 km/h in a built-up area. It turned out he was a 39-year-old resident of Polkowice. The officers detected the smell of alcohol coming from him. Indeed, the Polkowice resident was drunk; a breath test showed 1.7 parts per mille of alcohol.
The man began explaining to the officers that he urgently needed his driving licence because he commuted to work. He offered them PLN 8,000 to abandon their official duties.
The result? The 39-year-old was taken into police custody. On Tuesday, 5 September, he will be brought before the prosecutor’s office, where he will hear the charge of bribery.
The suspect could face up to 10 years in prison.
