The incident occurred on September 2, at around 1:10 a.m., on the 17th kilometre of the A4 motorway, heading towards Wrocław. As reported on the Facebook profile of volunteer firefighters from Czerna:
When we arrived at the accident scene, it turned out that a delivery van had collided with a truck trailer. As a result, the van driver was trapped inside the vehicle. We immediately began removing the vehicle’s doors using hydraulic tools and cutting open the cab in order to extract the injured person from the wrecked vehicle.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec, Czerna and Zgorzelec, as well as police officers and an emergency medical team, took part in the operation.
Update
The driver of a Fiat van crashed into the rear of a DAF truck trailer driven by a 39-year-old resident of Częstochowa. The Fiat driver, a 21-year-old resident of our county, was injured in the accident. He was taken to a hospital in Bolesławiec. He has a fractured femur in his right leg.
