The tragedy occurred on Sunday, August 20, at around 5:25 a.m. The driver of a train traveling from Węgliniec, near Wesoła Street in Bolesławiec, felt that the vehicle had struck an unknown obstacle. The man stopped the locomotive, got out and looked around. He did not notice anything suspicious, so he continued on his way.
The body on the track was noticed by the driver of another train, which passed that way a moment later. (The train that was in Bolesławiec at 5:25 a.m. was stopped in Chojnów).
It is known that the wheels of the first train severed the man’s head. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
As the spokesperson for the Railway Protection Guard told us, it was probably a tragic accident. The case is being investigated by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.
