Even preschoolers know how important wearing seat belts while driving is for our lives and health. There have already been numerous social campaigns addressing this issue.
It is common for the driver and the person sitting in the front passenger seat to wear their seat belts, while those sitting in the back downplay this obligation. The problem is that in the event of an accident or a vehicle rollover, the force of the impact may cause an unbelted person to be thrown from the car or injure fellow passengers.
Despite extensive media coverage, drivers and passengers still fail to comply with the regulations. Since the beginning of the summer holidays alone, Lubin officers have had to issue as many as 113 fines for this reason.
On August 2, however, things were different: instead of fines, officers handed drivers stopped for inspection who were not wearing their seat belts lanyards bearing the message “SEAT BELTS. THEY KEEP YOU ALIVE”.
