The incident occurred this afternoon in a forest near Przejęsław. At around 5:00 p.m., a 59-year-old man, a resident of Osiecznica, called the emergency number 112. He needed help. He said he felt unwell and was fainting. An ambulance was sent to the scene, but rescuers could not find the man. This is strange because the 112 system was supposed to enable the precise location of the phone from which the call was made.
Firefighters and police officers were involved in the operation. An alarm was declared at the police headquarters and officers were mobilized.
Unfortunately, the body was found two hours later. The man died before help arrived.
We know initially that there was indeed some problem with the location and the caller’s number. The police only managed to determine approximately where the caller might be. The prosecutorial proceedings will establish what actually happened and why it was impossible to provide the precise location.
