The accident occurred on Wednesday, 26 July, in Świętoszów (Osiecznica municipality). After 9:00 p.m., a 20-year-old driver of an Opel lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road, hit a tree and caught fire.
Three people were travelling in the car. The driver died at the scene. Two passengers, aged 21 and 25, were seriously injured. (All three were residents of Osiecznica municipality.) One of the injured people was taken to hospital in Nowa Sól, while the other was taken to the healthcare facility in Bolesławiec. The younger man suffered a craniofacial injury, while the older man sustained a broken leg.
Investigators are determining the causes of the tragedy.
