The incident occurred on Sunday, July 2. A resident of Legnica notified the police duty officer that she had apprehended a drunk driver and wanted to hand him over to the police.
As it turned out, while riding her bicycle, the woman noticed that her common-law partner was driving a Volkswagen. She suspected that the man was under the influence of alcohol. She followed him. When he stopped near one of the supermarkets and went shopping, the woman waited for him in the car park. When her partner left the store, she took his keys.
And indeed, the man was drunk. He had nearly two per mille of alcohol in his breath. The police officers confiscated the 38-year-old’s driving licence. He now faces up to two years in prison.
