The tragedy occurred around 1:00 a.m. on the night of June 10–11, on Jeleniogórska Street in Kostrzyca (Mysłakowice municipality, Jelenia Góra County). According to the officers’ preliminary findings, the 24-year-old motorcyclist, riding while intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle, veered into a ditch and struck a stone culvert. The man was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died several hours later.
The body was secured for an autopsy. Police are currently investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident.
“Motorcyclists, remember that public roads are not racetracks!” the officers emphasize. “Think about other drivers. Follow the rules of the road: do not exceed the speed limit, do not force the right of way, exercise caution toward other drivers, and wear reflective clothing to make yourself more visible on the road.
