The incident occurred on Sunday, June 4, at approximately 2:45 a.m. The Legnica traffic police received a report that a truck was driving against traffic on the A4 motorway. Officers quickly located and stopped the vehicle.

The truck was being driven by a 43-year-old Ukrainian citizen, who claimed that he did not know how it had happened that he was driving against traffic. However, the police immediately noticed that the man was having trouble maintaining his balance. They also detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from him.

The man was in such a state that he could not be tested with a breathalyzer at the scene. The Ukrainian was taken to the police station in Chojnów. There, the suspicions of the traffic officers were confirmed: the truck driver was completely drunk; he had nearly 2.4 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The vehicle was removed from the road, and the driver's license was confiscated. The man will probably face charges for creating a risk of a traffic disaster and drunk driving.
