The arrest of a 36-year-old resident of Bogatynia municipality took place last weekend. Officers determined that a Honda motorcycle that might have been stolen was parked at one of the shopping-centre car parks in Bogatynia. It turned out that the two-wheeler had registration plates assigned to a vehicle of a different make.
A man approached the motorcycle. He was arrested. It emerged that the Honda had been stolen in one of the border towns in Germany.
What is more, on one of the properties, officers located two other vehicles originating from thefts, also from the territory of Poland’s western neighbours. Another Honda and a Ford Transit were secured. Their owner—a 35-year-old resident of Bogatynia—was arrested.
The total value of the recovered vehicles is approximately PLN 230,000. Both men suspected of handling stolen goods now face up to five years in prison.
