On 6 May, Chojnów police officers arrested the perpetrator of two robberies. A masked man used an object resembling a firearm to rob two commercial outlets in the town. He committed the first crime on 4 May. Threatening a sales assistant, he demanded cash. He took PLN 1,500 and fled. The following day, he did the same thing, but at a different establishment. This time, his haul amounted to PLN 700.
A tracking dog from Lubin and its handler joined the search for the perpetrator. The dog indicated the direction in which the wanted man had fled.
Chojnów officers quickly determined where the suspect might be hiding. The 30-year-old resident of Chojnów commune was arrested and taken into police custody. What is more, at the time of his arrest, the man had methamphetamine in his possession.
The 30-year-old now faces up to 12 years in prison.
