The incident took place on May 7 in Kowary. A 19-year-old man took advantage of a moment of inattention on the part of his work colleague and stole car keys from his clothing. Using them, he gained access to the vehicle and then stole property worth approximately PLN 200: two USB flash drives and cash. He threw the keys away.

When the victim realized that the keys were missing, he began looking for them. Interestingly, the thief himself “helped” him with the search. The missing item was, of course, not found. The car owner notified the police.

Police identified the 19-year-old as a suspect in the burglary. The man was arrested the same day. He had the stolen property on him. He hid the USB flash drives in his socks and put the money in his pocket.

He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
