During the May holiday weekend, 30 collisions and one accident occurred on the roads of Legnica County. The latter took place on 2 May in Rokitniki. The driver of a Mercedes, travelling towards Chojnów, skidded and stopped the vehicle across the road, just in front of an oncoming Ford. Then a Volkswagen hit the American vehicle, followed in turn by an Audi colliding with the VW. Three people were injured.
The fines also began to pile up. They were issued to 485 drivers (including as many as 203 for speeding), 42 pedestrians and 5 passengers.
Moreover, the police took 8 drunk drivers off the road. They now face up to 2 years in prison.
