The incident occurred on April 25, a few minutes before midnight. Police officers noticed a Saab with German license plates. When he saw the officers, the driver accelerated. He was driving as if he were under the influence of alcohol. The officers decided to stop him for a check.
However, he did not respond to the signals. His further escape attempt was unsuccessful: he skidded on a bend, drove into a ditch and scraped against a tree.
The car was being driven by a 61-year-old German. The officers' suspicions were confirmed. The man was drunk, with 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The German citizen could now face up to two years in prison.
