The incident took place on April 3. A woman notified the Legnica police that her husband, who was prohibited from contacting her, had come to her home. Police officers from the prevention department arrived at the scene. The district officer also responded; he knew the family because it was subject to the Blue Card procedure.

The officers found the woman who had reported the incident in the apartment. She was trembling and extremely upset. As she explained, her husband had come and demanded that she give him his belongings. Although the man was prohibited from approaching her, the woman let him into the house.

After entering the apartment, the 65-year-old locked himself in one of the rooms. He did not want to come out. After a while, the uniformed officers heard the man shouting. He was sitting on the balcony railing. He had a noose around his neck. It appeared that he was ready to take this desperate step.

The desperate man began shouting that he would kill himself if the officers approached him. Two officers kept talking to the man. Meanwhile, their colleagues tried to open the door to the room where the suicidal man was.

The police officers eventually managed to persuade the man to remove the noose from his neck. The officers then forced the door open and subdued the aggressive man. He was handed over to the emergency medical services.

Thanks to the officers, a tragedy was avoided.
