Zgorzelec police officers received information that a car possibly originating from a theft was standing in a forest. The officers immediately went to check it. At the scene, they indeed found a stolen VW vehicle. They also arrested two men, aged 22 and 28, residents of Zgorzelec municipality, who had been hanging around the car.

Thanks to the exchange of information between officers from Bolesławiec and Zgorzelec, it was established that the vehicle’s owner had reported the theft of the Volkswagen to the Bolesławiec police unit. The vehicle was handed over to officers from the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, who returned the stolen property to its owner.

Moreover, officers from Bolesławiec established that both men had also broken into a Fiat several days earlier in Bolesławiec municipality. What is more, the older suspect also stole another Volkswagen in March. That vehicle was recovered as well and returned to its owner.

Both arrested men face up to 10 years in prison.
