A military class at the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec is to begin in September this year. It will be led by a former soldier. (For now, it is not known who exactly; the school’s headteacher Mirosław Sakowski is not revealing any details.) The program will include, among other things, field activities (a training ground and shooting range), training camps and themed trips. All of this will take place in cooperation with the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62 Commando Special Company.
“We are pleased that the school has come forward with this initiative. Both the County Board and the Education, Culture and Sports Committee of the Bolesławiec County Council have approved II LO’s proposal,” istotne.pl was told by Alicja Krzyszczak, head of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the County Office.
If there is enough interest, “the Two” will launch the first military class in our county. (At the General and Vocational Schools Complex named after Major Henryk Sucharski in Bolesławiec, there is currently only an inter-class group for future soldiers.) Besides, as A. Krzyszczak adds, the two schools are not competitors, because they offer two different programs: one is aimed at technical-school students, while the other is intended for general-secondary-school students.
What do you think? Would a military class be useful in our county? We invite you to join the discussion.
