Officers from the Traffic Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra arrested, after a pursuit, a 58-year-old resident of Jeżów Sudecki municipality suspected of driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
The arrest took place on March 21, around noon. Police received a report that a drunk driver had pulled up outside one of the shops in the aforementioned municipality.
A moment later, the man was already on his way. He was driving in a zigzag pattern, keeping to the left edge of the road, and completely ignored the signals given by the police.
The driver was arrested several hundred metres farther on, outside his own home. He is a 58-year-old resident of Jeżów Sudecki municipality. He was indeed completely drunk; a test showed more than 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The 58-year-old could now face up to two years behind bars.
