The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 15, in Bolesławiec. A resident of one of the buildings heard disturbing noises coming from a basement room. He also noticed objects scattered across the floor. It turned out that a man had broken into his basement and stolen several items. The victim immediately reported the crime to the duty officer at the Bolesławiec police station and waited for the services to arrive together with the suspect.
The 21-year-old from Bolesławiec County was arrested and questioned. The young man admitted to the crime. It turned out that he had other thefts and burglaries on his record. His haul included bicycles, batteries, tools, industrial goods and more. Officers recovered some of the stolen property.
The 21-year-old suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
