Police officers from Pieńsk and Zgorzelec, together with customs officers, searched two apartments in Ruszów. In the first, belonging to a 68-year-old man, they discovered tobacco and 400 cigarettes without Polish excise duty markings. In the apartment of a 40-year-old woman, they found cut tobacco.
In total, the officers seized more than 8 kilograms of illegal tobacco. It was estimated that if the goods had entered circulation, the State Treasury would have lost over PLN 6,000.
The suspects face a heavy fine.
