Before midnight, the Lubin police duty officer received information about a dangerous driver. Witnesses reported that a man driving a Citroën might be drunk. The police officer passed the information on to patrols.

The 61-year-old driver, a resident of Lubin, was detained. He was indeed driving under the influence—testing showed more than 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. What is more, the suspect was so intoxicated that he did not even notice he was not wearing shoes.

The 61-year-old now faces up to two years in prison.
