On Thursday, 12 January, officers from the Zgorzelec traffic police conducted the “Pedestrian versus Vehicle” operation. More than 20 pedestrians and 33 drivers violated road traffic regulations that day. What is more, police detained two drivers who were subject to court-ordered driving bans. The first of them—a 20-year-old—was caught by officers in Zgorzelec. The second, a 41-year-old man wanted by the court because he has a one-year-and-two-month prison sentence to serve, was detained in Żarska Wieś. The 41-year-old was first taken to police custody and then to a correctional facility.

Both men may face up to three years in prison.
