The current reduction at fuel stations is the result of lower wholesale fuel prices introduced by the country’s two largest producers. On Thursday and Friday, the Lotos Group lowered its prices; now it was PKN Orlen’s turn.
Unfortunately, the price of LPG has not changed. Its price at distributors’ company-owned stations is still PLN 2.09. According to estimates by automotive industry experts, more than one million cars with LPG systems are already driving in Poland. Their number is steadily increasing, which is why the tax authorities are interested in higher excise revenue from gas.
Crude oil becomes cheaper on global exchanges
The price of a barrel of crude oil reached 46 dollars on the London exchange. In New York, 49 dollars was paid for a barrel. A few days earlier, its price had exceeded 55 dollars.
Prices are falling as a result of growing crude oil inventories in the United States. The lack of frost is reducing demand for heating oil, most of which is consumed by Americans.
The price cuts introduced by fuel producers in Poland are a response to the decline in crude oil prices on global exchanges. However, fuel prices in our city are still higher than the national average.
