Officers from the Criminal Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 54-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County suspected of illegally possessing firearms and ammunition. In the 54-year-old’s garage, the officers found a veritable arsenal: three long and short firearms, an F-1 grenade, two anti-aircraft missiles, igniter fuses, pyrotechnic material and 180 rounds of various ammunition. The suspect explained to the officers that he had found all the items in rubbish bins and in the forest. He also said that he kept them solely for collecting purposes.
The 54-year-old collector may face up to 8 years in prison.
