The incident took place on Tuesday, 20 December. Officers from the Zgorzelec traffic police stopped three drivers who had exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area. The first was a 56-year-old man from Jelenia Góra (he exceeded the speed limit by 2 km/h). The next was a 29-year-old resident of Stary Węgliniec, whose speedometer showed 101 km/h. The oldest of them proved to be the record-holder: a 77-year-old man from Lubań, who sped through Białogóra at 120 km/h.

All the drivers lost their driving licences for three months and also received PLN 500 fines and penalty points.

Since the beginning of 2016, police officers in Zgorzelec have recorded more than 170 cases of exceeding the speed limit in a built-up area.
