Officers from the Property Crime Department, together with police officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health of the Legnica City Police Headquarters, detained two men from Legnica County. The 21- and 37-year-olds are suspected of drug-related offences.
The officers received information that an illegal cannabis plantation might be located in one of the flats in Legnica. They decided to check it. They searched the aforementioned premises and detained two people. It turned out that the 21- and 37-year-olds had been carrying out their operation in three flats in the city.
The officers seized tents equipped with heating, ventilation and irrigation systems; more than 520 cannabis plants in various stages of growth; as well as dried cannabis from which more than 5,000 portions of marijuana could have been produced. What is more, officers also found four pieces of ammunition in one of the premises.
The suspects from Legnica County were temporarily remanded in custody for three months. They face up to 10 years in prison.
