A woman from Lubin was returning home with her partner. The man was already under the influence of alcohol, but he wanted to “top himself up.” He therefore demanded that the woman give him money for another drink. When she refused, he began beating her and then snatched her handbag, taking 10 zlotys from it.
Another man witnessed the entire situation and came to the woman’s aid, as did a driver who was passing by. The two men subdued the drunk aggressor and notified the police.
The injured woman was taken to hospital. Fortunately, she did not suffer any more serious injuries.
The violent man was taken into police custody. After sobering up, he was charged with assault and theft. He now faces up to five years in prison.
