In the article—which was based on information obtained from the police—we reported that the cyclist had not suffered anything more serious. At that time, a reader, the injured woman's colleague, wrote to us:

As far as I know at present, my colleague has undergone two operations, one of which lasted as long as five hours. The first was in the cervical spine area, which had fractured; the second involved removing a hematoma from inside the skull. […] It is shocking that the police made her sign the fine after such a collision.

As Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec police, told us on Friday, December 2, the response to this collision did indeed end at the hospital. However, the injured woman was conscious and communicative at the time; the doctor himself allowed the police officers to carry out their official duties. The woman gave the officers a detailed account of the entire incident. Only afterward did it become clear that her condition was serious.

We wish the cyclist a speedy recovery.
