The incident occurred on 19 November. Officers from the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec received information about a car being set on fire on one of the city’s streets. It was established that an unknown perpetrator had stolen a car from an unattended car park near the hospital and, several streets away... set the vehicle on fire and fled.
The 29-year-old suspected of these crimes was detained. He admitted his guilt but was unable to explain why he had done it. The thief and arsonist now faces up to eight years in prison.
