Police officers from the Criminal Department of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then arrested a 20-year-old man with no permanent address, who is suspected of a series of burglaries.
Between October and November this year, the man committed at least sixteen property-related offenses in Jelenia Góra. He broke into and robbed basements, mainly in the Zabobrze estate. His loot included power tools, jars of preserves, bicycles, copper pipes, elbows, tires and other items. The victims’ total losses amount to no less than PLN 13,000.
The officers are currently determining what happened to the stolen property. The 20-year-old probably pawned some of the items at pawnshops and sold others to people he happened to encounter. The suspect confessed. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
