– A time of an important moment given to us by God—this is a moment that Józef Piłsudski also understood while still in Magdeburg prison—said the custodian of the Bolesławiec Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Rev. Prelate Andrzej Jarosiewicz. – To let oneself be guided by God in the name of one common good, and also to be reflective in everything I do for the Motherland—the Homeland—is my service to “resurrected” Poland.
After the solemn Mass, a ceremony was held in Bolesławiec’s Market Square, co-organized by the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec under the command of Col. Pawła Świtalskiego. – Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered here to ask for a blessing for our Homeland and to pay tribute to national heroes and our ancestors—said Marian Haniszewski during the ceremony. The celebrations concluded with the concert “Poland through Europe’s Eyes,” performed at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec by:
- Jerzego Owczarza – piano
- Karola Lipińskiego-Brańki – violin
- Anny Rodak – cello.
The meeting was moderated by Joanna Kołodziej.
