The first arrests took place on October 16, in the late afternoon. Officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police, working with border guards from Zgorzelec, detained two men in Jędrzychowice, aged 60 and 28. The detainees had two firearms in their possession, including an automatic weapon, rifle ammunition and a workshop-made suppressor.
Just a few hours later, during the night of October 16–17, officers detained a 60-year-old man in Wołów County who was connected with those already detained. At his home, they found essential firearm components and various types of ammunition—1,248 rounds in total, including rifle and pistol ammunition.
Further findings led CBŚP officers to detain another four people, aged 33–75, including one woman, in Wrocław and the surrounding area on October 24 and 25. The officers secured 33 long- and short-barreled firearms, including eight automatic weapons, 2,324 rounds of various types of ammunition, essential firearm and ammunition components, and suppressors.
At the request of the Lower Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław, the District Court for Wrocław-Śródmieście remanded four of those detained in custody for three months. The remaining three were subject to property bail, travel bans and police supervision.
In total, police secured 3,579 rounds of various types and intended uses, 36 short- and long-barreled firearms, including nine automatic weapons such as Kalashnikovs, Scorpions and Raks, as well as a PK machine gun.
