The arrest took place on the night of October 30. A patrol from the prevention department of the Lubin police received information from the duty officer that a break-in had probably occurred at one of the shops in the city centre. The officers immediately went to the scene, where they noticed a smashed pane in the shop’s entrance door. They went inside and began looking for the burglar. They arrested him shortly afterwards. He turned out to be a 20-year-old resident of Lubin, who had already prepared tobacco and cigarettes worth approximately PLN 2,500 in total to take away.

At the time of his arrest, the 20-year-old was drunk—he had more than one per mille of alcohol in his system. The Lubin resident was taken into police custody. He faces up to five years in prison.
