On one of the streets in the Przylesie estate, officers noticed the driver of a Rover. When he saw the police car, the man behind the wheel remembered what he should have done before setting off. This would not have aroused the officers’ suspicions if the vehicle had not already been moving. The driver was clearly signaled to stop. He did not do so; quite the opposite—he accelerated and began to flee.
During the escape, while weaving through the estate, he hit a road sign. But this did not stop the road pirate, who continued fleeing, disregarding pedestrians on the sidewalks. After some time, however, he was stopped. As it turned out, he was completely drunk, with nearly 3‰ of alcohol in his system. The officers are currently analyzing the course of the incident in detail. Their findings will determine what charges the 41-year-old from Lubin will face.
