On Tuesday, March 25, a 28-year-old resident of Lubusz Voivodeship notified the Bolesławiec police that he had been attacked by two assailants. The man claimed that the attackers had threatened him with a pistol and taken his bank card along with its PIN.

The version of events presented by the 28-year-old seemed inconsistent and unclear to the police officers. The officers began to suspect that the man was lying. In addition, at the time he reported the alleged robbery, he was under the influence of alcohol.

When the 28-year-old sobered up, he admitted that he had made up the entire story out of fear of his wife. It turned out that he had lost the bank card in one of the restaurants.

Reporting a crime that was not committed to the police is punishable by up to two years in prison.
