On 11 March, police detained a 48-year-old resident of Bolesławiec who had attacked an employee of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre. When the man heard that his benefit (vouchers for purchasing food) had been suspended, he flew into a rage. He lunged at the woman, knocked her to the ground and began choking her, shouting that he would kill her.

The attacker faces up to three years in prison.

According to the police, the man did receive assistance in the form of vouchers. He became upset because he had expected money. The Bolesławiec resident has already been sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for five years. He must also apologize to the woman he threatened and cover the costs of the proceedings. The man lives on a disability pension.
