The middle school student was abducted on March 5. “The unknown perpetrators took him from the school grounds under the pretext of driving him to the scene of a road accident in which his father was allegedly involved,” Regina Haniszewska, deputy district prosecutor in Bolesławiec, told Boleslawiec.org. Both kidnappers were partially masked. Nevertheless, a composite sketch of one of them has already been prepared.
The men drove the boy to an allotment garden. In one of the garden huts, they tied his hands and legs and taped his mouth shut. They then called the middle school student's father and demanded a PLN 400,000 ransom.
“Despite being restrained, the minor managed to get out of the hut on his own,” prosecutor Haniszewska recounts. The boy asked employees of a nearby facility for help. They notified the police, the emergency services and the victim's father.
The police are intensively searching for the kidnappers. The suspects include employees of the abducted child's father, who runs his own company. Police are also checking whether the crime was committed by people associated with the businessman’s son. “Let us hope that these actions will lead to establishing the perpetrators’ identities,” Haniszewska adds.
Both kidnappers face up to 10 years in prison. An internal investigation by the school principal will determine whether the teacher who excused the abducted student from class was negligent.
