A pole and housing for a police speed camera have already been installed at the dangerous bend in Kruszyn, where many serious accidents have occurred. It is untrue that—as some people claim—the device itself has also been installed there. As we have established, the speed camera will only start taking photographs on roads near Bolesławiec on 7 January.
The police speed camera is intended to be mobile: poles and housings are also being installed in Wilczy Las, Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, Brzeźnik and Czerna. The aim is to ensure that drivers do not know in which town near Bolesławiec the device will be installed on a given day. The speed camera is primarily intended as a preventive measure, but as Grzegorz Górski, press officer for KPP Bolesławiec, assures us, road pirates will receive no preferential treatment.
Traffic lights switched off at the intersection of Staszica and Cieszkowskiego streets
At the same time, we would like to inform you that, due to the replacement of traffic-light controllers at the intersection of national road no. 4 (Staszica and Cieszkowskiego streets), the traffic lights will be temporarily switched off. Planned work period: 2–31 January 2008.
